Personal Injury Cases We Handle

Every injury case is different, but most have the same core question: who was responsible, and what did it cost you?

I.

Vehicle & Roadway Accidents

A crash can upend your life in seconds: medical bills, missed work, and a long recovery. Whether you were hit by a distracted driver, a commercial truck, or a careless boater, we take on the insurance companies and pursue the full compensation you’re owed. Truck accident cases are led by John W. Chandler Jr., a trial lawyer who focuses on tractor-trailer and commercial trucking collisions.

II.

Property & Premises Injuries

Property owners have a legal duty to keep their property reasonably safe for visitors. When a store, landlord, or business ignores a hazard and someone gets hurt, they can be held responsible for the harm it caused.

Slip and Falls

Dog bites & Animal Attacks

Inadequate property maintenance

Toxic Exposure & Fires

Negligent or Inadequate Security

Swimming Pool Accidents

Elevator & Escalator Malfunctions

III.

Nursing Home Neglect & Abuse

When you trust a facility with someone you love, you expect them to be safe and cared for. If a nursing home fails in its duty of care, we hold it accountable and pursue justice for the resident and their family.

Bedsores & Pressure Ulcers

Malnutrition & Dehydration

Physical & Emotional Abuse

Falls & Fractures

Medical Errors

Financial Exploitation

IV.

Wrongful Death

No amount of money makes a loss like this right. A claim can bring accountability and ease the financial weight on your family. We handle these cases with care and determination.

Whether your loved one was lost in a crash, because of unsafe property, or through neglect in a care facility, we’ll walk your family through what comes next, at a pace that feels right for you.

Understanding Your Claim

What It Takes to Win a Personal Injury Case

To recover compensation, a personal injury claim generally has to prove four things.

01

Duty

The other party had a responsibility to act reasonably, like a driver obeying traffic laws or a store keeping its floors safe.

02

Breach

They failed to meet that standard through negligence or reckless conduct.

03

Causation

That failure is what actually caused your injury.

04

Damages

You suffered real, documented harm as a result, such as medical bills, lost income, or pain and suffering.

When all four are in place, the law entitles you to compensation for what the injury cost you. Our job is to prove each one clearly, with the evidence to back it up.

Compensation

How Much Is My Personal Injury Case Worth?

There’s no set formula. It depends on how severe your injuries are, how clearly the other party was at fault, the available insurance coverage, and whether you share any of the blame. That’s why a real case review is worth more than any online calculator.

Economic damages

The losses you can put a number on.

  • Medical bills & future care
  • Lost wages
  • Loss of future earning capacity
  • Rehabilitation costs
  • Travel for treatment

Non-economic damages

The harder-to-measure impact on your life.

  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress
  • Disfigurement or scarring
  • Loss of consortium

Insurance Companies

Don't Let the Insurance Company Shortchange You

Adjusters can sound friendly, but their job is to protect the insurer’s bottom line. They may ask for a recorded statement or make a fast, low offer before you know the full extent of your injuries. We handle those conversations so you don’t have to.

When a fair settlement isn’t on the table, we’re prepared to take your case to trial.

Personal Injury FAQs

Don’t see your question? Contact the office nearest to you. We’re here to guide you.

  • How long do I have to file a personal injury claim?

In Tennessee, you generally have one year from the date of the injury to file a personal injury lawsuit, one of the shortest deadlines in the country. In Georgia, the deadline is generally two years. Some claims have exceptions or even shorter notice requirements, such as claims against government entities. Talking to an attorney early protects your right to recover.

  • What if I was partly at fault for the accident?

You may still be able to recover. Tennessee and Georgia both follow a modified comparative fault rule: if you are found less than 50% at fault, you can recover damages, reduced by your share of the blame. At 50% or more, you cannot. Insurers often try to shift blame onto the injured person, which is one more reason to have an advocate on your side.

  • How much does it cost to hire a personal injury lawyer?

Most personal injury cases are handled on a contingency fee basis. You don’t pay attorney’s fees upfront; our fee comes from the compensation we recover for you. If we don’t recover anything, you don’t owe attorney’s fees. We’ll explain exactly how fees work during your free consultation.

  • Do I need a lawyer for a minor accident?

Not every fender bender needs a lawyer. But injuries that seem minor can turn out to be more serious in the days after a crash, and early settlement offers rarely account for that. If you’ve been hurt, are missing work, or the insurer is disputing fault, a free consultation can help you understand whether you’re being treated fairly.

  • What should I do immediately after a car accident?

Get to safety and call 911 so police can document the scene. Get medical attention, even if you feel okay. Photograph the vehicles, the scene, and your injuries. Collect the other driver’s insurance and contact information, plus any witnesses’ contact information. Avoid admitting fault or giving a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer before you talk to an attorney.

  • The insurance company won’t cover my medical bills — what now?

In Tennessee and Georgia, the at-fault driver’s insurer usually doesn’t pay medical bills as they come in; it typically pays once, as part of a final settlement. In the meantime, your own health insurance, MedPay coverage, or uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage may help. We can help you sort out which coverage applies and pursue reimbursement from the responsible party.
